E – ELEVATION:

Although anti-inflammatory drugs reduce pain, research suggests they may slow down tissue repair. Inflammation is a natural process that triggers healing, so it should not be completely suppressed. Ice may help relieve pain but should be used sparingly and for short durations.
C – COMPRESSION:
Elastic bandages or compression sleeves can reduce swelling and provide stability. Be careful not to apply the bandage too tightly, as blood circulation must remain intact.
E – EDUCATE:

Why not only R.I.C.E.?

The R.I.C.E. protocol was simple and accessible, but too passive. Today we know that prolonged rest weakens muscles, reduces circulation, and increases the risk of re-injury. Ice can be helpful for short-term pain relief, but it suppresses natural inflammatory processes essential for healing.
